There’s a moment, right as you walk onto the back lawn of Pier Sixty-Six for Heritage Fire Food Festival, when the food scent reaches you before anything else does. Oak smoke, sizzling meats, fresh herbs, and the kind of aroma that whispers, “You’re stepping into flavor town bröther.”
As far as Fort Lauderdale food events go, this one sets the standard the second you arrive. As we walked onto the grounds, we were greeted with Geico-sponsored goody bags that made it feel like a curated backyard gathering.
And then the eating began… All of the food tastings and drink options were included in the ticket btw so I ate so much food.
Every single dish was delicious. Each chef created something expressive and flavorful. It felt like walking from kitchen to kitchen across Fort Lauderdale’s best restaurants.
My favorite station was by Adrienne Grenier from Burlock Coast. She crafted a vibrant plate with sweet potatoes, miso mushrooms, and a flavor-packed vinaigrette drizzled on fresh. It was earthy, comforting, and DELICIOUS. Chefs like her are what puts Fort Lauderdale food events at the top of my list to attend.
The entire event took place outdoors on a grassy lawn lined with white fences, umbrellas, and open spaces that made wandering easy. Everything was ADA accessible, which is awesome.
Everywhere you looked, something was happening:
Chefs plating.
Guests dancing
Laughing and drinks flowing.
It felt like Fort Lauderdale’s version of a culinary block party. It was elegant and welcoming.
I left with a full stomach and fully convinced that Heritage Fire is one of the best Fort Lauderdale food events, and worth adding to your annual calendar.
If you’re a foodie or just someone looking for activities to add to your well-rounded life, this one deserves a spot on your list.
And yes, I’d absolutely go again.. They’re going to Miami in a few weeks! Check out the tickets here.
